Work Schedule: Hours are flexible, office is open Monday-Friday and technician will need to work 2 days weekly, 5 hours each day

Summary/Objective

Perform janitorial duties and maintenance of grounds and landscaping

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain grounds through weeding, mulching, and trimming bushes, etc.
  • Maintain live exhibits by cleaning habitats and feeding animals 
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, and empty trash 
  • Set up/tear down of classroom for scheduled events
  • Clean bathrooms and restock supplies 

Ancillary Job Duties

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
  • At least one (1) year of related experience or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of facility maintenance equipment and the use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to define a problem, analyze relevant information, and develop solutions and plans to solve the problem.
  • Ability to interact with the general public in a professional manner.
  • Ability to develop cooperative working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours, as needed.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools for landscape Maintenance.

Work Environment

  • May be subject to exposure to mechanical oils, fumes or airborne particles and work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally work in outdoor weather environments (cold/hot/humid/wet).

Physical Abilities

  • Move about grounds, both inside and outside of buildings.
  • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, and three-dimensional vision
  • Concentrated attention is required at all times.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
  • Regularly lift up to 5 pounds, correctly lift up to 15 pounds.
