Summary/Objective
Maintain the aircraft fleet in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- This is an Hourly position. Work will evolve around the aircraft schedules and when needed.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft.
- Complete Aircraft Airworthiness signoffs in permanent records using Personal FAA issued license.
- Track and conduct required inspections, overhauls, and life limited components.
- Service and clean Aircraft.
- Follow Federal Aviation Airworthiness Directives.
- Monitor manufacturer’s bulletins and update manual revisions and maintenance schedules.
- Retain aircraft historical maintenance records and traceability for parts installed on aircraft.
- Locate vendors and FAA repair stations, and purchase and inspect parts.
- Submit requisitions and consult with purchasing for maintenance contracts.
- Review work and paperwork of contract companies and sublet repair shops.
- Maintain ground support equipment to include aircraft tugs and lawn mowers.
- Keep hanger clean and in a neat orderly appearance.
Ancillary Job Duties
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Cessna single and twin-engine aircraft, Beechcraft Turboprop, and Airbus H125 Helicopters.
- Five (5) years of experience as an FAA certified aircraft mechanic and at least two (2) years of experience as a full-time mechanic with inspection authorization.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Rating, required

Work Environment
- Occasionally required to work in confined spaces, subject to mechanical oils, fumes or airborne particles and work in high places.
- Frequently exposed to loud noises which may require the use of hearing protection.
Physical Abilities
- Frequently operate aircraft related equipment, requiring reaching with hands/arms, grasping, pushing, and climbing or balancing.
- Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, correctly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Extremely demanding attention is required at all times.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Exemption Status/Special Notes
This position has been determined to be Nonexempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy.
