Summary/Objective
Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote the fish, forest, wildlife opportunities and outdoor recreational offerings internally to staff and external to Missourians.
Essential Job Duties
- Create marketing strategies to connect to MDC goals and objectives with measurable outcomes.
- Utilize current marketing strategies, including digital marketing, social media, advertising, search engine optimization, radio, television, podcasts, PR, email marketing, agency communications, content and messaging development.
- Develop, collaborate, and implement integrated marketing communication projects for recruitment, community conservation, reaching new audiences, fish/forest/wildlife priorities, Missouri Conservationist, Discover Nature Schools, Discover Nature Fishing, podcast, mobile apps, for-sale publications, nature centers/shooting ranges, permits, etc.
- Research, budget, and prepare marketing outreach proposals and presentations.
- Conduct market research focused on audience(s) habits, barriers, and trends. Analyze and implement within marketing outreach market research data and generate/present reports.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related.
- Three (3) years of experience in clerical work.
- Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use office equipment, such as copier, multi-line phone system, fax machine, scanner, and computer.
- Forestry/Fish/Wildlife experience, preferred.
- Comfort communicating with members of the media.
- Excellent business and speech writing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours, as needed.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in standard physical office setting or telework home environment.
Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position up to 70% of the time.
- Move about grounds, both inside and outside of buildings.
- Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.
- Three-dimensional vision- ability to judge distance and space relationships.
- Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, correctly lift up to 25 pounds.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

This position has been determined to be Exempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy.
Salaried and hourly employees are expected to use a mobile device-cellular phone for Department business, as needed.
