Summary/Objective
Are you a training professional with experience conducting training in the workplace? Are you passionate about continual learning and do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills? The Missouri Department of Conservation has an exciting opportunity for this type of individual to join the training team. This is a position that includes a wide variety of training activities ranging from, developing training, coordinating, and delivering training programs to MDC Staff.
Essential Duties
Training & Development:

Research, development, and review of curriculum and training materials in coordination with the Training & Development Coordinator

Assist Training & Development Coordinator with coordination of training programs (such as Supervisor Foundations, MDC Leads, etc.)

Creation of eLearning modules in coordination with the Training & Development Coordinator

Coordinate review of contracts, bids and purchasing of equipment, supplies, vendors, facility meeting rooms, for training and meetings

Assist in the production and evaluation of technology, such as audio-visual aids and computer-based software

Develop, administer, and analyze reports

Conducts various training sessions (7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Extended DISC Communication Styles, Supervisory Foundations, and other workforce topics.)

Coordinate training programs, such as Franklin Covey All Access Pass (AAP), and leadership development programs, utilizing best practices for leveraging these programs
Job Duties, continued
Maintain the HRIS Learning Management System (LMS) module:
- Serves as back-up to the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator
- Assist Training & Development Coordinator in determining ways to leverage the LMS to enhance employee learning paths and other functionality
- Oversee HR Assistant's role as liaison with the HRIS Coordinator and the LMS vendor
- Oversee and coordinate with HR Assistant on LMS software updates and assist with LMS upgrades as needed
- Assist LMS Administrator with troubleshooting LMS issues
- Determine and apply "competencies/skills" to applicable courses
- Assist LMS Administrator with LMS Stewards in meetings, inquiries, and communication.
- Develop and prepare eLearning modules to be launched from the LMS
- Develop and prepare standard/customized training reports as requested, working with LMS Administrator to implement
- Member of the Training & Development Working Group and back-up for Training & Development Coordinator
- Attend meetings and participate as a member of working groups (internal & external), as requested
Job Duties, continued
Administration/Classroom Managment:
- Conduct Extended DISC Communication Styles training (must certify in this after employment)
- Create video or PowerPoint presentations; write email announcements; prepare training materials; design & review training flyers; work with HR assistant to setup training rooms; coordinate logistics with regional offices and other training locations, as well as work with internal and external trainers
Assistance with Special Projects
- Assist Training & Development Coordinator on special projects and programs from the Director's Office and other requests as needed, assist with research of new training programs eLearning, Live Meetings, WebEx and other meetings
- Oversight and coordination of eLearning programs such as LinkedIn Learning, which includes reviewing courses and recommending training tracks for staff and publicizing/announcing/marketing of program
- Setup various webinars and assist with the setup of various trainings
- Assist Training & Development Coordinator and HR Assistant with creating annual training schedule for Employee Development Unit (EDU)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Communications, Business or Public Administration or a closely related field
- Three to five years of progressively responsible training experience in an adult learning environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of adult learning theory (ADDIE Model and Blooms Taxonomy)
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent time-management skills
- Proficient with computers and technology
- Experience conducting training and other presentations to large groups (in-person and with WebEx, Teams, Zoom, or other virtual environments)
- Ability to create training flyers; training manuals and handouts; and PowerPoint presentations
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); knowledge of Access and Adobe
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Efficiently produce well-written documents and correspondence
- Attention to detail; be highly accurate and thorough in all tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department staff
- Ability to work weekends, as needed
- Ability to travel frequently with occasional overnight stay
- Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license
Work Environment
- Work is typically performed in a standard office environment.
Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position 70% or more of the time.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
- Regularly lift up to 5 pounds, correctly lift up to 10 pounds.
- Concentrated attention is required at all times.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Exemption Status/Special Notes
This position has been determined to be Exempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy.
Salaried and hourly employees are expected to use a mobile device-cellular phone for Department business, as needed.
