Summary/Objective
Answer user questions, resolve technical problems and maintain the company's network, software and computer equipment.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist Field Support Specialists with operation of computers, printers, scanners and other peripheral devices attached to the network.
- Provide assistance as point-of-contact for all department employees on a minute-by-minute as needed basis.
- Support staff with technical issues and resolutions for computer hardware, software, networking, mobile device and application issues via phone, email, instant messaging and self-service submitted tickets.
- Research issues and questions via internet and peers and route accordingly.
- Create, document and route problem tickets to technicians and specialists.
Ancillary Job Duties
- Provide informal training to users.
- Assist with special projects or equipment upgrades.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or closely related field.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.

- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
- Ability to keep focused on understanding, anticipating and responding to the needs of customers.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of all types of groups, Department staff and the general public.

- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with Department personnel and the general public.
Work Environment
- Regularly work in a standard office environment.
Physical Abilities
- Remain stationary up to 70% of the time.
- Regularly communicate and exchange accurate information.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Regularly lift up to 5 pounds.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Exemption Status/Special Notes
This position has been determined to be Nonexempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy.
Salaried and hourly employees are expected to use a mobile device-cellular phone for Department business, as needed.
